Business Consulting
As a true business partner, we are available to help you deal with any business problem or opportunity. We stand ready to engage in business consulting projects to help you make the right decisions for the future of your business. Whether you face questions related to expanding, selling or restructuring your business, we have the necessary business acumen and analytical capabilities to help you make the right decisions.
Business Entity Selection
The business entity—LLP, LLC, sole proprietorship, partnership, corporation, etc.— that you select for your business has enormous financial and tax implications. It is important that you make the right decision. We can explain each choice and its implications. As your business grows and changes, the type of business entity you choose may need to change also.
Expatriate Tax Service
Employees of Multinational Corporations or U.S. individuals working overseas become subject to complex tax issues from country to country when they relocate abroad. We can provide assignment planning and solutions to employers and employees on tax issues involving domestic and international relocations, U.S. expatriates living overseas, and foreign nationals working in the U.S. Our firm can provide a wide range of services to Multinational Corporations, expatriate executives and foreign nationals including:
- Tax Planning in Structuring a Cost Effective Assignment
- Advanced Calculations of the Potential Costs of Assignments, per Local Tax and Social Security regulations
- U.S. Tax Return Preparation (and U.S. states if necessary)
- Tax Equalization and Hypothetical Withholding Tax Calculations and Consulting
- Coordination of Foreign Tax Return Preparation
- Extensions and Estimated Federal Tax Payment Calculations
- Designing Tax Efficient Compensation Packages for Minimizing Global Tax Exposure and Overall Assignment Cost
Tax Equalization and Hypothetical Withholding Tax Calculations and Consulting
Our firm can provide consulting services to employers in setting up of the company-specific Tax Equalization Policies that intergrate with the company’s overall business strategies. We can explain the policy to the employees, and perform the tax equalization and hypothetical withholding tax calculations for the employers. We can also review the tax equalization calculation with the employee to determine if the calculation is in accordance with the tax equalization policy.
Make Up Services in Preparation of the Back-Log Past Year Returns
A large number of U.S. citizens living overseas have failed to file returns for one or more years because they were not aware of the filing requirements or the necessity to file. Expatriates do not automatically get credit for foreign taxes, foreign earned income and housing exclusions or other tax benefits without first filing a timely tax return. The statute of limitations never runs out on tax years for which a taxpayer fails to file their tax return.
We can assist you with preparation and filing of the back log returns that have not yet been filed for past years. If many returns are involved, we will give you a “bulk” discount. If you will ever return to live in the U.S., the IRS will eventually inquire about the missing returns.
Tax Services for Non-Residents and Foreign Nationals Working and Living in the U.S.
If you do not live in the U.S., but own all or part of an U.S. corporation, partnership or trust, we can assist you with filing the proper tax returns to comply with all U.S. federal and state tax laws. If you are an individual and receive income which is subject to U.S. tax (usually something other than certain types of interest and capital gains) we can prepare a non-resident tax return for you.
If you live in the U.S. or maintain your tax domicile here, you must file an U.S. tax return. With planning, those U.S. taxes can be minimized so you can keep more money in your pocket. We have the expertise and experience to prepare your returns both for the IRS and the state in which you live.
IRS Representation
An IRS audit can be an intimidating and complex process. If you or your business face an IRS audit, we can bring to bear years of experience in dealing with tax matters and IRS audit procedures to ensure that you are properly represented when dealing with the IRS and other tax authorities.
Sales Tax Services
State and local tax authorities are looking to maximize sales tax collections. We can help you understand and manage your sales tax obligations and prepare sales tax returns in an efficient and timely manner.
Tax Preparation & Planning
Effective tax preparation and planning can help you to minimize your future tax liability. We can help you proactively manage both your personal and your business tax issues, including understanding how upcoming business opportunities impact your tax status and vice versa. Not all tax planning opportunities are readily apparent. By having us on your team, you are more likely to benefit from those opportunities. We understand how the latest federal, state and local tax legislation and other developments affect you and your business and we are constantly identifying new ways to reduce federal, state or local tax liabilities.
